Can I renew my insurance over the phone?
No, to do a renewal the registered owner must be present and sign for it or give another person a signed NTR form.
What do I need to transfer a vehicle into my name?
First you will need to get the transfer form signed by the former owner. You will also need the original registration copy of that vehicle. If the former owner has lost or misplaced his registration, they will have to get a replacement certificate from a broker, at a cost of $18. If no money is exchanging hands, a gift letter will have to be filled out. Otherwise, sales tax will have to be paid on the purchase amount. For more details please view ICBC's page on the matter.
Can I do monthly payments?
Yes, you can. To start the monthly payment program, just bring a void cheque with you upon renewal. A term of 6 or 12 months is required. To view more details, please see ICBC's Autoplan12 page.
Will I loose my 40%+ discount if I let my teenager drive my car?
No. As long as you are still principal operator (driving the vehicle majority of the time), your safe driver's discount will apply to the vehicle. If you have the 10 year discount (discount for no drivers with less than 10 years experience driving your vehicle) then that will be taken off. This change could result in an increase in annual premiums of anywhere from only a few dollars to over one hundred, depending upon your current coverages. The discount can be re-applied as soon as they stop using your vehicle.
Can I get a quote?
Yes, we can give you an insurance quote either over the phone or in the office. If over the phone, please have your insurance papers handy so we can make the quote as accurate as possible.

What are the 3 main types of policies?
Standard Policy - Coverage for named perils only. You are only covered for what is listed on the policy.
Board Form Policy - Coverage for named perils on contents and all risks on the building. All risks does have exclusions however.
Comprehensive Policy - Coverage for all risks on contents and the building. There may still be some exclusions.
What is a deductible?
In the event of an insured loss, this is the amount of the loss that you have to pay before the insurer will contribute their amount. Example: You carry a $500 deductible comprehensive coverage from ICBC. You hit a deer, causing $2000 damage to your vehicle. You will have to pay $500, and ICBC will pay the rest. There are deductibles in place to prevent the insurer from having to pay for minor losses like a dead headlight. Usually, a lower deductible will result in a higher premium.
